Without question , quarterback is the most important position in football. Actually, it might be the most important position in all of sports when you really think about it. if you wamt to win in the NFL, you need to have an elite quarterback , unless you're the 2000 Baltimore Ravens and have the best defense of all-time (yeah, they were better than the 1985 Bears, but that's an argument for another time). Here's the good news NFL fans. Despite guys like Colin Kaepernick and Brandon Weeden stinking up the joint, 2015 has seen a lot of talented young QBs take the next step in their progression to elite status. A lot of beleaguered franchises have been stuck with terrible quarterback play for a long time and it looks like they might be finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. While it's way too early to christen any of the guys on this list as the next coming of Joe Montana , it's definitely appropriate to say they're much better than JaMarcus Russell ever was...though we guess that's not really saying much.Just to be clear, with this list, we're looking at QBs who are making strides in 2015 and who might be able to burst into the top 5 QBs in the league in short order. So, don't expect to find Aaron Rodgers of Tom Brady gracing our list. If you don't already know they're good , perhaps football isn't the sport for you. Instead, let's take a look at 12 QBs who could lead their team to the promise land in the near future. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell bet on himself when he decided that he was worth more money than he would have received playing under the franchise tag and refused to report to the club unless it offered him a contract to his liking. Bell never received such a deal, and he and the Steelers remained separated up through and past the day he could have rejoined the organization and featured in the Pittsburgh backfield during the current campaign. Thought to be the best back in the league as of December 2017, Bell turns only 27-years-old in February 2019 , and the fact that he took no hits during games this past season means he should be fresh and ready to play by the time the next training camp begins. Two things seem apparent as of the holiday season as it pertains to Bell’s future. Clearly, he is willing to show patience in negotiations and even miss games if it means remaining healthy until he puts pen to paper on a deal that guarantees him more cash than what he would have made under the franchise tag. It also cannot be ignored that salary-cap situations will prevent some organizations from even considering giving him a call next March. Don’t forget that the team that currently holds his rights could, once again, make a move to retain his services en route to selling to the highest bidder. Would that be good business for the Steelers?
